reality therapy-based group counseling on the quality of life of women of childbearing age coronavirus epidemics

, , ,
Abstract

The coronavirus spread crisis that affected the quality of life (QOL) of women at reproductive age. Counseling could do away with many of their problems. Hence, the purpose of the study was to examine the effect of Reality Therapy Group Counseling (RTGC) on the QOL of women at reproductive age during the coronavirus epidemic. The study was a clinical trial with a control group conducted in Arak in 2021. Seventy women admitted to five health centers were selected according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria and were randomly divided into two experimental and control groups. The experimental group received reality therapy counseling sessions (8 sessions of 90 minutes twice a week), and no interventions were made in the control group. The data was collected by the personal information form and the World Health Organization (WHO) QOL questionnaire, filed out by the participants before and 4 weeks after the intervention.

Significant differences were seen between the intervention and control groups in QOL variables (P<0.05). Based on the findings, one can state that RTGC on women at reproductive age during the coronavirus epidemic could increase the QOL and help clinicians and is thus recommended to them, given its emphasis on internal control, improving communication, and effective satisfaction of needs
